I placed this ship on Cuusoo, the ship as it is now would probably not make a good set but a lot of people were dissapointed that there is no official Flying Dutchman. Overall I'm very pleased, the least I could say is that is didn't turn out to be a floating garden (using plant parts on a ship is risky). As you could probably see the colorscheme consists out of rather vague colors, I tried not to use any bright colors, I also wanted to reduce black as much as possible, which was not easy. I used a lot of the lego I already had but for this big ship I had to make some bricklink orders as well, I spent about 100 Euro on additional parts, mainly dark tan colored bricks. This is my biggest creation so far, it consumes an incredible amount of parts but I'm not able to make a decent estimate (I'm not going to count them -_- ). There are still some rough edges but I like it this way.Īpart from the rigging this is 100% LEGO parts.

The ship weights about 4,2 kg and has a lenght of more than a meter (which makes her the biggest lego replica of Davy Jones' famous ghostship on the net). a new component for legos, is that they have 'sling' shaped pieces that are placed like a messenger bag over the character, which allows them to hold their swords in their sides, when not in use. More pictures at Mocpages (a lot more, mocpages is the place to be ) )Īnd for the interested link to the WIP tread (at Eurobricks, classic Pirates) you get jack sparrow, admiral norrington in beat up clothing, and hadras - the crewman from the flying dutchman whose head gets knocked off and turns into a hermit crab (which is unique currently onto to this set). Finally, after a backwards drop, guests return to the fort, which Jack has now filled with his gold. The notorious ghostship from Pirates of the caribbean ( Dead Man's Chest and At World's End). Guests then enter a sea battle between the Dutchman and the Black Pearl. After that, the guests sail through the graveyard of lost ships surrounded by treasures followed by Davy Jones' lair. Afterwards, guests enter the Graveyard of Lost Ships, where the Flying Dutchman's remains and the Kraken await. From there, guests enter the Caves of Misfortune, where Jack Sparrow is.

Guests start at the Royal Navy’s former fortress and pass the Barbossa’s Bounty restaurant. It features new technology not used in previous iterations of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The ride features animatronics of Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones. Walt Disney Imagineering designed the attraction and Industrial Light & Magic created the computer-generated visual effects. The ride opened along with the rest of the park on June 16, 2016. Based on the eponymous film series, the attraction features a different storyline from previous Pirates of the Caribbean attractions. Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure is a magnetic powered dark ride at Shanghai Disneyland.
